What We Do
Recording
We can track small bands, live drums, re-amp bass and guitar parts, add percussion, overdub vocals… the usual things.
Editing
The key to a great finished result is to make sure everything is in-time and in-tune. Many producers will just use an autocorrect macro, which is quick but can sound artificial. I focus on only fixing the worst offenders – whilst leaving the rest to get a natural sound.
Additional Production
If you want, we can work on the music together. I have a collection of rare synths and unusual outboard gear that can add a little extra spice to your tracks.
Mixing
Once we’ve got a great track down, the mix is the next creative element of a record. It’s great if you have a reference track(s) that show the type of sound you’re after. A track will usually take a day to mix, and I include 3 mix revisions as part of the package, so we can get it sounding exactly how you want it.
Mastering
Mastering is the final stage before a record gets made. It’s the final polish. The key things that happen here is that the volume and tonal balance between each track is evened out, the overall volume is brought up to a level typical of the genre, fades, track sequencing and the creation of production-ready master files.
